An abandoned pit, dried leaves and sticks, along with scrap wood has produced our burning ground. I’m thinking about chants and dances around the fire. We’re digging up old land to make space for a new garden. It’s the most temperamental element of the house, seeing as seasons change and so will the lifespan of everything within it.

Orange is peeking, red is glowing. The leaves are crunching under us, trees rustling above us. A stone garden feels like an apt way to welcome fall.
