Dear reader,

ree

You know that feeling you get when you’re about to leave for a trip. Perhaps a trip you’ve planned for a long time now, so you’re really excited that it’s finally becoming a reality. You’re almost anticipating the adventures you get to have because vacation you could be a completely different person and it’s fine. The same rules don’t apply. They wouldn’t because that’s how it feels to extract yourself from reality. That sizzling taste of freedom. Even if it’s only for a couple of days.

Strange to think that’s how I feel every time we’re readying ourselves for a new chapter isn’t it? And it’s not like every trip is an entirely new adventure. We are simply returning home. And does anyone ever get this excited to return to the mundanity of life?

I think about what will greet us when we turn the key. How many mosquitos would have been left. If you’ve been through summers in Japan, you’ll get what I mean and if you haven’t, it’s not an exaggeration that upon entering a car, you’ll be surrounded by at least seven of them swirling around your head.

There’s been an influx of new followers since that last time I was here. Hi. Thank you for taking the time to read about us, and the extra step to search and follow us on social media. You’ll soon be introduced to the repetitive cycle of updates for 3 months, going silent for the next 3 and again and again and again. That’s what happens when you have us on your radar. This extremely odd but wonderful back and forth thing that we have. Like that weird friend who comes up for air occasionally and you’re reminded of their presence. Yet, beware. They have a tendency to ghost you for 3 months.
